Northeastern Log Homes Rich Horn is President of the Log Homes Council of the National Association of Homebuilders
Rich Horn, marketing manager of Northeastern Log Homes, Inc. was elected president of the Log Homes Council of the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) for 2004. The NAHB, one of the nation's largest professional associations, has lobbied vigorously for public policies that ease home ownership for American families.
Horn has been among Log Homes Council advocates of a log grading program that has established national standards and increased consumer confidence in systems-built log homes.
In l991, he received the National Association of Homebuilders' S.A. Walters Chairman's Award for service to the industry.
He was graduated from the University of Maine at Orono in 1976 with a bachelor of science degree in forestry and joined Northeastern Log Homes that year. His role in the company has expanded to include managing marketing and sales of both Northeastern Log Homes and Classic Post & Beam. Horn's contributions have been felt in a number of areas, including: technical enhancements and developing new product lines - the Traditional Series for first-time homebuyers and empty nesters on a modest budget and the Camp and Cabin Series for the recreational and outdoor market.
Northeastern and its Classic Post & Beam operation (www.classicpostandbeam.com) manufacture homes at the company's facilities in Kenduskeag, Maine, just outside Bangor. Model homes and full-time sales offices are located in Kenduskeag; Groton, Vermont; York, Maine; Westfield, Massachusetts, and Louisville, Kentucky. The Classic Post & Beam model home is in York, Maine. In addition to US sales, the company exports to Japan, Israel, South Korea, Turkey, Ireland and Russia.
