Northeastern's Sportsman's Cabin is a Collaborative Success
Story by Dick Pirozzolo
Northeastern's Camp & Cabin models are ideal for the outdoor enthusiast who wants a modestly priced getaway for fishing, hunting and other active family vacations. So, collaboration with the nation's oldest outdoor magazine, Field & Stream, was a natural.
The new Sportsman's Cabin was developed by Northeastern designers together with the editors of Field & Stream. A prototype has been built at a game preserve in New York's Catskill Mountain region and the project has been prominently featured in Field & Stream magazine, and on their Web site.
Explains Rich Horn, sales manager for Northeastern, "By working closely with Field & Stream editors, we were able to include the features most wanted for hunting and fishing trips and for active family getaways as well. The cabin has over 1,000 square feet of living space, including two sleeping lofts joined by a catwalk. Its signature is a gabled front porch with exposed beams that may be screened in for an additional 140 square feet of living space."
Prices for the Sportsman's Cabin range from $26,925 to about $33,350 with optional features such as solid v-matched wood interior paneling and Andersen® roof windows.
